ABOUT THE OWNER
Becky Martin, Idaho CSR #1108, RPR, CRR
Becky found court reporting when she was looking for a viable option to pay her way through law school but found within a month of entering the court reporting program that she wanted to spend her professional life in this field. She passed her licensing exams in April of 2006 and began working as a freelance reporter in eastern Idaho. Becky took a break from full-time reporting to spend some time at home with her children but during that time worked on audio transcription and editing transcripts for court reporters around the country, gaining invaluable experience in how to produce a perfect transcript. She returned to reporting full-time in 2018, working as an official reporter for Judge Jon P. Brody in the Fifth Judicial District. Becky returned with her family to the Treasure Valley in 2019 and has loved her time working freelance, where she has specialized in providing realtime in medical malpractice cases.
Becky is devoted to the field of court reporting and has served as president of the Idaho Court Reporters Association, volunteered her time and services to Concordia law students in mock depositions, and she has taught multiple six-week courses for Project Steno, an organization working to address the nationwide court reporter shortage by introducing prospective students to the field and the basics of writing steno.
Outside of court reporting, she’s served on the board of the DeMary Memorial Library, spending two years as chair, served on too many PTO boards to count, including as president, and takes great pride in being the queen of class parties. She has three children with her husband, Nick, and when she’s not working you’ll find her chasing her family around the Valley on volleyball courts, football fields, and at theater productions.
